Barcelona outclassed Real Madrid in Riyadh, but Carlo Ancelotti does not feel Los Blancos are in a “critical” situation.

Carlo Ancelotti dismissed talk of Real Madrid being subjected to “sporting humiliation” by Barcelona in a 3-1 Supercopa de Espana final but accepts they are in a “difficult moment.”

Barca dominated El Clasico in Riyadh on Sunday to claim their first major trophy under head coach Xavi.

The star of the game was teenage attacking midfielder Gavi, who scored the opener just before half-time, setting one up for Robert Lewandowski.

The 18-year-old Spain international also set up Gavi for the Blaugrana’s third goal at the King Fahd Stadium, with Karim Benzema scoring a consolation in the closing stages.

Madrid beat Villarreal in their last LaLiga match and lead Barca by three points in the title race.

Although Xavi’s side were the far better side, Los Blancos were the architects of their own downfall, making a mess of their play at the back as they looked shaky and were overwhelmed in midfield by a lively Barca side.

Head coach Ancelotti said: “It’s not a critical moment, it’s a difficult and complicated moment. It usually happens during the season. It can be fixed with the usual commitment and the usual attitude.”

“Players need to be aware of that. These mistakes are easily avoidable.”

The Italian added: “We gave away, it started evenly, there wasn’t much rhythm and avoiding giveaways is the first thing, but we gave two. We have to improve our physical condition and play as a team.”

“The mistakes are definite. It wasn’t a good game for anybody. I find it disrespectful to talk about sporting humiliation. They were better, period.”
