Enzo Fernandez has urged disgruntled Chelsea fans to get behind head coach Graham Potter amid their horrendous form.
The Blues are on a miserable run of one win in ten games, have slipped to tenth in the Premier League table, been knocked out of the FA Cup and face UEFA Champions League elimination at the last 16 stage.
Potter, who replaced fan favorite Thomas Tuchel in September, revealed on Friday that he and his family had received death threats over Chelsea’s disappointing season so far.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Fernandez called on supporters to stand up for Potter and the players.
“Trust the players, trust the backroom staff, trust the manager,” he said through a translator. “Never forget that we’re representing you, that we’re trying to win games, starting on Sunday. Then we can start turning things around.
“I would ask the fans to be patient. We have a lot of new faces here and it is a restructuring of the club and the playing staff. Trust us.”
Chelsea travel to Spurs on Sunday looking to maintain their 100% Premier League record at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It’s also a pretty lucky hunting ground for Potter, who was on the end of two narrow 2-1 defeats before a deserved 1-0 win over Tottenham at Brighton last season.
