On Wednesday, alarm bells began ringing in the Paris Saint-Germain camp after Kylian Mbappe‘s injury in the Ligue 1 match against Montpellier.

The France forward’s initial scans suggested he would be out for three weeks, meaning he would miss the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg against Bayern Munich.

“Following examinations, Kylian Mbappe has suffered an injury to his left thigh at the level of the biceps femoris. He is expected to be unavailable for three weeks,” PSG’s medical statement read.

However, the coach of their Champions League rivals Julian Nagelsmann does not seem to believe the information and admitted in a press conference that he does not think he will miss the game.

“I don’t know what he has, but I expect him to play. They are very vague on their website, they say ‘up to three weeks’, unless he has a structural injury, I don’t think he will be out.” game,” he said.

“I’ll prepare for the game by expecting him playing. It’s too far off to say the player won’t be on the field, if he doesn’t have a serious injury.

“They could be playing with it by not mentioning if it’s structural,” said the German coach.
