Paris Saint-Germain have announced that Neymar’s season is over due to the player requiring a surgical procedure.
The Brazil international has had problems with his ankle in recent years and the club have offered an update on his situation after consulting with their medical staff.
After suffering another injury to his right ankle two weeks ago, Neymar has been advised to undergo surgery to repair the ligaments to avoid the risk of a major recurrence of the problem.
As a result, the operation will be in Doha later this week.
PSG have confirmed he will be out for three to four months once he recovers, meaning he will play no further role this season.
The 31-year-old contributed 13 goals and 11 assists for Les Parisiens this season.
