Juventus failed to win away at Bologna in Serie A for the first time in seven visits as their winless run extended to four games.

Juventus missed the opportunity to go second in Serie A as they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Bologna on Sunday.

Second-placed Lazio were beaten 3-1 by Inter earlier in the day, yet Riccardo Orsolini slotted home a first-half penalty from Renato Dall’Ara to leave Juve with fears of a fourth successive league defeat.

Those concerns were not helped when Arkadiusz Milik missed a chance to equalize from the spot, but he fired brilliantly after the break to deny Bologna a first Serie A victory over the Bianconeri in 22 attempts.

Juve remain below Lazio and crucially just three points ahead of Inter, Milan and Roma in fourth, fifth and sixth and face a real battle in the last six games if they are to finish in the Champions League places.

The visitors were in the lead after just 10 minutes, a lengthy VAR review ruling that Danilo had brought down Orsolini before the winger rose from the turf to fire the penalty into the bottom right corner.

Lukasz Skorupski saved his side’s lead with a sensational brace from Nicolo Fagioli, and the keeper made his mark again shortly after.

The referee initially awarded a free-kick after Milik was moved by Jhon Lucumi, but VAR determined the foul had occurred in the Bologna box. Skorupski wasn’t fooled by the striker’s skip-and-dive penalty technique, though he comfortably got to his right to make the save.

But Milik was more ruthless in the second half, rebounding from his poor spot-kick to strike brilliantly first-time into the bottom corner to equalise.

There were plenty of chances for both sides in the closing stages but neither side could find a winner as Juve at least broke their losing streak.
