Real Madrid have agreed a deal to sign one of the most sought-after players in world football, with Jude Bellingham joining from Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund’s statement on Wednesday confirmed that the fee to take the 19-year-old England midfielder to the Bernabéu is €103m up front, with a maximum of €31m to follow in bonuses, which would make him Madrid’s all-time record.
An official statement from the Spanish giants is expected in the near future.
Bellingham came through the youth system at his boyhood club Birmingham City, ditching the number 22 shirt when he left for Borussia Dortmund in 2020 as a 17-year-old.
During his first season at Dortmund, he became the club’s youngest goalscorer in a competitive match and the youngest Englishman to start a Champions League match.
He was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season in the 2020/21 and 2022/23 seasons and won the Bundesliga Player of the Season award in the 2022/23 season as Dortmund finished runners-up to Bayern Munich.
He has been capped 24 times for England so far at international level and scored for the Three Lions at the World Cup in Qatar.
Every top club in Europe has been linked with the teenager in recent months, with Liverpool considered front-runners for his signature at one stage, but he will now join Los Blancos’ galaxy of stars.
