Christopher Nkunku has vowed to bring joy to Chelsea supporters after sealing his long-awaited move to Stamford Bridge.

Having completed a move to Chelsea shortly after the 2022 summer transfer window closed, Nkunku’s move was finally confirmed earlier this month, with the Frenchman joining Mauricio Pochettino’s side after initially signing under Thomas Tuchel.

Blues fans are understandably excited about the arrival of the 25-year-old, who has been one of the highlights of German football in recent years, and Nkunku admitted he was looking forward to work.

“I think the project was good for me,” Nkunku told the club’s media. “It’s a good project for me to develop as a player and as a man.

“And this is a good city after all and I definitely want to improve in football and I want to win trophies and improve as well. So I think it’s a good project for me at the moment. It’s a good project.” , for sure.”

Asked what the fans can expect from him, Nkunku continued: “We can say that I am a hard worker. I will give everything for the club, for the fans and to help the team bring some trophies. To give the best of my football. I hope to make them so happy , as I am here in this club.

“I’m a bit quiet on the pitch, but I can talk, I can shout too. But I’m very focused on football and winning, doing everything right, so I can say I talk with my feet.” it’s obviously important to talk to the guys on the pitch.

“I hate losing, but I have both sides. If you want to win, you have to hate losing. So I think they’re two opposite things, but you need to bring the two together to be successful.”

Primarily a second striker, Nkunku has played as a midfielder, winger and midfielder throughout his career and should have plenty of opportunities to showcase his versatility under Pochettino.

“I haven’t had the chance to speak to him, not yet,” Nkunku said of Chelsea’s new boss. “I’ve talked a little bit about him with some of my friends in Paris. I’m talking a little bit about him with some of the players. They told me he’s a very good coach and I’m excited to work with him.”
