According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG are ready to sell Kylian Mbappe this summer amid strong links to Real Madrid. The journalist further adds that a move to the Santiago Bernabeu remains the 24-year-old’s dream and that he has already apologised to Florentino Perez over snubbing the club last year.
Real Madrid were close to signing Mbappe last summer, but the forward made a last-minute U-turn to renew his contract with PSG. The move left the Merengues red-faced as they prepared to bring the France international to the club.
Naturally, it was believed that Los Blancossaying: “This is not the Mbappe I wanted to bring, it is another who had to change his dream.”
PSG are angry at the reports coming out of Spain about Mbappe, as well as Perez’s recent statements in which he confirmed he plans to sign the 2018 World Cup winner.
That, along with the Frenchman’s decision not to extend his contract beyond 2024, means they have now decided to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for nothing next year.
It has been reported that Liverpool would be interested in making a move for Mbappe if he was available. But Romano clarifies that the Reds do not have the money to go after his signature, similar to Bayern Munich.
It has also been suggested that PSG could demand €150m for their ace, but Romano adds that the Parisian giants have yet to set a price.
While a deal for Mbappe may not be difficult, the transfer will depend on how negotiations between Real Madrid and PSG go.
