Leandro Paredes scored a rocket of a goal and Cristian Romero scored a header in Argentina’s 2-0 win against Indonesia.

Paredes and Cristian Romero scored for the second time in the same game. The first time Paredes and Romero scored in the same game for Argentina was a 2-2 draw against Colombia two years ago.

The World Cup champions completely controlled the first half and almost scored on several occasions. Beautiful passing and beautiful play in midfield and attack, but the team was unlucky not to score.

Facundo Buonanotte came close to making it 0-0 when he pressured Indonesia’s back line and stole the ball. The 18-year-old stole the ball and dribbled past the keeper but his effort was saved on the line. The deflected shot fell to Argentina, but they also saved themselves and went for a corner kick.

Leandro Paredes scored the only goal of the first half for Argentina, but it was a goal worthy of any game. A strike from outside the World Cup winner’s penalty area would score to give Argentina a 1-0 lead.

Minutes before half-time, Emiliano Martínez made a great save. Indonesia had an opportunity from inside the penalty area, but Martínez saved.

The second half started with Argentina again in possession of the ball. Indonesia would get a chance from a throw-in where they were tipped over, but Martinez would make a big save.

Argentina would get their second goal of the match. A corner taken by Gio Lo Celso and his cross found Cristiano Romero who would head in to give Argentina a 2-0 lead.

Marcos Acuna and Alejandro Garnacho were both brought on as second-half substitutes. Lucas Ocampos was brought in for Facundo Buonanotte. Scaloni would make three more changes as Guido Rodríguez, Gio Simeone and Thiago Almada were brought on for Exequiel Palacios, Julián Álvarez and Leandro Paredes.
