Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wants to leave the club when his contract ends in 2025, reports the Guardian.

The Catalan joined the treble winners in 2016 after leaving Bayern Munich.

Guardiola signed a three-year deal after joining Man City and extended his loan until 2021 after winning the 2017-18 Premier League title.

In 2020, he signed a new two-year contract that extended his stay until 2023.

The 52-year-old player agreed to extend his contract with the Etihad Stadium club by two years last November, committing himself to the club until 2025.

Guardiola would have spent nine years at the club by the time his contract expires.

The former Barcelona manager turned Man City into a force to be reckoned with in England and Europe.

They won their first ever Champions League at the expense of Inter Milan on Saturday after winning the Premier League for the third season in a row.

Since Guardiola’s arrival, Man City have won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and two Community Shields.

They have broken and set records under the former midfielder and will continue to do so until 2025.

Clubs in Italy, France and Saudi Arabia will be tracking Guardiola once he confirms his intention to leave Man City.

After winning titles in Spain, Germany and England, Guardiola could be eyed by a move to Italy or France.

No manager has won titles in all of Europe’s top five leagues and joining a club like Paris Saint-Germain could bring him closer to that feat.

The French club are still chasing the Champions League and could be tempted to name the Man City legend in 2025.

Managing the national team could also be an option for Guardiola, but he still has a lot to offer at club level and it will be interesting to see where he ends up next.

Man City would be keen to retain his services but he seems ready for a new challenge having conquered the Premier League.
