The constant mill of information about Kylian Mbappe’s future continues to swirl. The latest briefing says that Paris Saint-Germain will not give up the ghost.
According to RMC Sport in France, PSG will open talks with Mbappe over a new contract that will run until 2025 – a one-year extension.
However, they are willing to put anything on the table in this new deal and are trying to pull out all the stops. This includes financial incentives, of course, but even making it easier to leave in writing next summer.
They also feel that Ziad Hammoud, formerly of BeIn Sports but recently hired as Mbappe’s business manager, could make negotiations somewhat easier. He is obviously on good terms with Mbappe, but he also has close ties to the PSG hierarchy after working for many years as the head of Qatar’s BeIn Group.
From their perspective, Mbappe and his family feel they are crystal clear in their desire to see out this season and leave for free at the end of the upcoming season.
The PSG CEO gave Mbappe an ultimatum about a week ago that he should renew his contract this summer or leave via sale, but realistically Mbappe is holding all the cards. Despite seemingly doing the impossible last summer and keeping hold of Mbappe, it would be no surprise if PSG went all the way. Real Madrid is waiting patiently.
