If the Spanish journalist’s numbers are to be believed, Mbappe’s signature could cost the Galacticos around €230 million.
Real Madrid’s stance on economic stability
It was reported earlier this month that the Spanish giants have prioritized the club’s financial stability over signing any player.
However, the Spanish journalist adds that Real Madrid do not care too much about the money that would be pocketed for his signature.
Mbappe will start generating revenue for the Merengues from the moment he joins Real Madrid, as the increase in jersey sales and the addition of his brand to the team name will eventually offset the economic investment the club has made.
As such, Los Blancos will not hesitate to shell out the money for his signature this summer, with PSG acting through an intermediary they have hired.
Not all of the €230m the Paris giants are asking for Mbappe will go into the club’s coffers, with some likely to be used to pay the player to convince him to leave.
How do Mbappe’s options weigh up?
The Frenchman has Real Madrid as his only option, and he is said to have rejected even an economically lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
His original plan was to join his dream club on a free transfer next summer, but PSG’s latest stance seems to have unsettled him.
Mbappe is currently in Paris after being ruled out of the French side’s pre-season tour to Japan, with PSG giving him only two options – immediate exit or renewal.
With a move to Asia off the table and a renewal unlikely for him, a move to Real Madrid remains the only viable option.
Florentino Perez has the money ready to sign the talented winger but has remained tight-lipped on the matter despite the developments in Paris.
They are said to only open talks if PSG or Mbappe open talks in the coming weeks.
And with PSG set to make contact through intermediaries to inform Madrid of a €230m transfer fee, things are set to move soon.
