The Football Association of England has reportedly contacted the AFA regarding a friendly match against Argentina’s national team.

For the first time in almost 20 years we could have England against Argentina. According to ESPN’s Mark Ogden, FA chief executive Mark Bullingham said arranging the match between the two countries was not a money issue but rather a scheduling issue. Bullingham was quoted as saying the following:

“We have had various talks with a lot of countries about friendly action against them.

“They [Argentina] are one of the countries we’ve spoken to at some point, but there’s nothing planned for them at this stage.”

Argentina have six games left this year, all of which are World Cup qualifiers. For next year, FIFA’s March window is matchless, but there is Copa America 2024 in June and July, followed by World Cup qualifiers in September, October and November.
