After a grueling League Cup run, Lionel Messi and Inter Miami seem to be running on fumes, but they continue to conjure as much magic as they require every time they step onto the pitch. The run will live on in the US Open Cup semifinals on the road against FC Cincinnati.
Messi has reached his second final with Inter Miami. In the semi finals of the U.S Open Cup, Cincinnati were leading 2-0 and it was Lionel Messi who got the first assist for Campana.
A cross into the penalty area and Camapana would score a header for Inter Miami’s first goal of the match. But the Argentine was not done yet.
The Best player in the world would play a pin point accurate cross in to Campana and he would score in injury time to draw level. In extra time, Inter Miami would take the lead.
Benjamin Cremaschi, the Argentine American, would play a pass in to Martinez and he would score. Cincinnati would draw level and the match would go to penalty kicks.
Once more, it was Lionel Messi who took the first kick for Inter Miami and he scored. Facundo Farias, who made his Inter Miami debut, took the second kick and scored.
Inter Miami goalkeeper Callender would make a save and it was Benjamin Cremaschi who would score the penalty and give Inter Miami the win. The final is set for September 27 and Inter Miami will play either Houston Dynamo or Real Salt Lake.
