Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Benfica and Portuguese forward Goncal Ramos.
The 22-year-old striker, who scored a hat-trick against Switzerland in the 2022 World Cup Round of 16, will join on loan until the end of the season, when PSG will have the option to make the deal permanent.
Benfica were hoping for a £69m fee for Ramos, who Manchester United had previously shown interest in.
He told the club website: “I am very proud and happy to join Paris Saint-Germain. PSG is one of the biggest clubs in the world with one of the best teams.”
Ramos scored 19 goals in 30 Primeira Liga games last season as Benfica won their 38th Portuguese top-flight title.
With Kylian Mbappe’s future uncertain, PSG have moved into the summer market to secure new goalscoring threats. While Lionel Messi has left, the likes of Marco Asensio, Xavi Simons, Lucas Hernandez and Manuel Ugarte have arrived at the Parc des Price in recent weeks.
The signings are expected to continue, with Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele closing in on a €43m move for the Ligue 1 winners.
PSG are also interested in Joao Felix, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea, while talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over striker Randal Kolo Muani accelerated at the weekend.
