Inter Miami are preparing for the US Open Cup final against Houston Dynamo, but everyone is wondering whether their star forward Lionel Messi will be fit for the match or not.
Messi is dealing with irritation from a scar from an old injury he’s been dealing with in one of his leg muscles, so everyone has to wonder; is Lionel Messi playing the U.S Open Cup final against Houston Dynamo tonight?
Messi has played in three of Inter Miami’s last four games and did not train with the team on Tuesday in preparation for this game.
However, with this being the last match of the US Open Cup and some silverware on the line, Inter Miami can decide if Messi is good enough to play in this match in their bid to leave as tournament winners.
Inter Miami manager Tata Martino said on Tuesday that even he had no idea whether or not Messi would play, and that injury appears to be a mid-match decision.
There is always the chance that Messi could start and leave the game early, or come off the bench later in the game if the game is close and his team needs a spark.
Messi certainly wants to play in this game, but Inter Miami may not be willing to risk another injury by sending him on the field if he is not fully healthy.
The star Argentine appears to be a question mark for the U.S. Open Cup final, and his status is unlikely to be decided until shortly before kickoff.
