Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal became the youngest goalscorer in LaLiga history as his side salvaged a 2-2 draw at Granada after two goals.
Yamal, aged 16 years and 87 days, pulled Barca back into the game after he equalized through Bryan Zaragoza’s first-half brace and substitute Sergi Roberto’s late strike rescued a point.
Granada striker Zaragoza opened the scoring after just 17 seconds – the fastest goal in LaLiga this season – and Xavi’s side squandered the chance to close within a point of leaders Real Madrid.
Barca, who won the Champions League 1-0 this season at Porto on Wednesday night, were stunned by Granada’s blistering start.
The home side came from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 at Almeria last week and, after winning possession from a Barca kick-off, Zaragoza curled a shot into the bottom corner after running onto Lucas Boy’s pass.
Granada goalkeeper Andre Ferreira denied Joao Felix and Gavi as Barcelona tried to get back level, but the home side struck again with their second attempt on goal.
Gerard Gumbau found Zaragoza in the penalty area and the young forward brilliantly created space before planting his finish into the top corner.
Felix saw another effort saved by Ferreira, but Yamal pulled the visitors back in first-half stoppage time, converting an open goal at the far post.
Barca laid siege to Granada early in the second half as Fermin Lopez volleyed straight at Ferreira.
The Granada keeper made a save to keep out Ferran Torres’ close-range effort in the 69th minute after Ronald Araujo headed a free-kick back over the bar.
Granada continued to frustrate the visitors and Yamal was replaced by Oriol Romeu after 15 minutes.
But with time running out, Roberto, a 61st-minute substitute for Lopez, came to the rescue, sending Alejandro Balde’s cross in front of goal.
Granada protested that a foul had been committed during the set-piece and almost retook the lead when Zaragoza’s shot hit the post.
In a dramatic finish, Felix thought he had won it for Barca only for his effort to be ruled out for offside as Granada held on for a point.
