Argentina will bid to continue their perfect qualification campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup when they host Uruguay in Buenos Aires.
The World Cup holders have won all four qualifiers so far, putting them five points clear of a chasing pack that includes their visitors and arch-rivals Brazil.
After winning their first three games under new manager Marcelo Bielsa, Uruguay lost in Ecuador before drawing in Colombia. However, they bounced back in style with a 2-0 win over Brazil in their last qualifier.

Argentina are heavy favorites to win and should have captain Lionel Messi back fit and in form, following the end of the striker’s season at Inter Miami and his two goals, most recently in a 2-0 win at Peru on October 18.
As fans of his former teams are sure to know, Biel’s action style is not to be underestimated. With the likes of Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez and Gremio’s Luis Suarez – a scorer in almost every other game for his club – in attack, Uruguay have the potential to be a threat.
