Messi vs. Ronaldo announced before Inter Miami dispute Al Nassr clash in Riyadh

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are set to meet on the pitch for the first time in more than a year in a friendly in what organizers in Saudi Arabia have described as “the last dance of football greatness”…or are they?

The head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh, announced on Tuesday that Ballon d’Or winner Inter Miami will face Ronaldo’s Al Nassr in the Riyadh Season Cup in February 2024.

Al Hilal, who currently lead the Saudi Pro League from Al Nassr and count Neymar, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Ruben Neves and Kalida Koulibaly among their star players, were also expected to feature three teams with 26,000 club appearances. the capacity of the Kingdom Arena serving as the host venue.

However, Inter Miami then issued a statement calling the announcement “inaccurate”. He added that franchise owner Jorge Mas “has not made any comments, publicly or privately, regarding the pre-season tour.”

Messi vs Ronaldo 2024: Inter Miami vs Al Nassr

The Riyadh Season Cup is expected to take place during the first week of February 2024, the league schedule will be announced later.

It would act as a pre-season for Inter Miami as their US MLS season is set to begin in late February.

Al Hilal and Al Nassr will be in the middle of their campaigns, but there are currently no Saudi Pro League matches scheduled for early February as part of a break in domestic action.
