Ajax will entertain Brighton & Hove Albion at the Johan Cruyff Arena (Amsterdam Arena) on Thursday in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.
The home side endured a winless start to the campaign and are at the bottom of the Group B table with just two points. The visitors, meanwhile, have fared well in their debut European campaign, winning, losing, and drawing their first three games in the competition.
The two teams met in East Sussex last month in the reverse fixture. It was a historic day for Brighton as they recorded their first ever European win as they beat Ajax 2-0 at home. Joao Pedro and Ansu Fati scored in either half to condemn the Dutch side to their first defeat of the campaign.
The home side have seen an upturn in form of late, winning two games on the trot after a 10-match winless run. Second-half goals from Brian Brobbey and Steven Bergwijn alongside Chuba Akpom helped them record a 4-1 home win over Heerenveen in the Eredivisie on Sunday.
The visitors have played 1-1 against each other since their victory in the reverse fixture. In the previous game, an Ashley Young own goal in the 84th minute helped them to a draw against Everton in the Premier League.
