The IFFHS (International Federation of Football History and Statistics) released their rankings for the 10 best football players of 2023 and there was one glaring omission, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Al Nassr star has 53 goals in 2023 but apparently none of that mattered as “better” leagues were taken into account.

First place is Erling Haaland, second is Kylian Mbappé and third is Lionel Messi, who played half a year for PSG and the second half for Inter Miami.

Cristiano Ronaldo, not happy with what he saw on Instagram, responded to the assessment on Portuguese sports website A Bola with emojis.

CR7 corresponds to the IFFHS 2023 ranking

Cristiano Ronaldo responded to the rating by posting four “????????????????” emoticons. CR7 seems to think the rating is a joke and while his season has been impressive numerically, the numbers have been achieved in the Saudi Pro League.

According to the same analysis, seeing Messi in the third spot is questionable given that he didn’t play the last 2 months of the MLS season with an injury despite the early buzz and Inter Miami’s good form. MLS playoffs.
