Real Madrid returned to the top of LaLiga with a 2-0 home win over Granada on Saturday night as Rodrygo shone again.

Los Blancos took the lead in the 26th minute as Brahim Díaz continued his fine form to play a neat one-two with Toni Kroos, then put himself in front after half-time.

They were denied a great chance to double it before the break, only to be waved away by an appeal for a flagrant foul on Jude Bellingham.

Twelve minutes after half-time, Real made it 2-0 when another man in fine goalscoring form, Rodrygo, volleyed home from a tight angle as Bellingham’s effort was saved.

Real are now back on the pile, level on points with Girona, ahead of Sunday’s third-fourth-place duel between Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid.

Real Madrid  Player Rating

Andriy Lunin (6/10): It would be best to count blades of grass in games like these.

Dani Carvajal (7/10): He ran out on the right when needed and produced some nice crosses. Removed at half time.

Antonio Rudiger (7/10): He kept the dangerous Bryan Zaragoza calm. Part of a great effort to get rid of visitors.

David Alaba (7/10): He pinged the ball around a bit, kept things tidy.

Ferland Mendy (7/10): He did his defensive work well and offered more than usual going forward. He is now clearly the first choice ahead of Fran Garcia.

Toni Kroos (8/10): He played a beautiful pass to Diaz to open the scoring. Composed in midfield and barely a misplaced pass. Classy.

Federico Valverde (7/10): Works as #6 for long stretches. He didn’t get a chance to do many nice things, but he was solid throughout.

Brahim Diaz (8/10): Full of tricks and sharp cuts. He took his goal well and linked up well with Bellingham.

Jude Bellingham (7/10): Uncharacteristically relaxed in the first half. He gave a good chance and saw another denied. I didn’t get any calls the entire game and was, quite rightly, frustrated. He almost talked himself into red. Be careful Jude.

Joselu (5/10): Failed to convince. He works hard but doesn’t really have the quality needed to be a lasting success.

Rodrygo (8/10): Break out the fancy stuff when needed. He scored once more. He now has five in his last three La Liga games. Back to his best.

Subs and Manager

Lucas Vazquez (6/10):

Dani Ceballos (6/10):
