Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid rumors are in full swing a week into the new year. After all, the Frenchman has the last six months of his contract at PSG and could leave the club for free at the end of the season.
Real Madrid have been trying to get Mbappe’s signature for years and are keen to seal a deal with him as soon as possible to avoid a long saga like 2022.
Indeed, reports emerged in France on Sunday evening claiming that there was already an agreement in place between the Merengues and the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner for a free transfer in the summer.
However, the forward’s entourage have since played down the reports, insisting there will be no pressure on the 25-year-old and he will take his time before choosing his next move.
PSG believe an exit is more likely
As reported earlier today, PSG are not aware of any deal or discussion between Mbappe and Real Madrid at this time.
However, The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana claims on Ramon Alvarez’s Twitch channel that the Ligue 1 champions believe the chances of their superstar leaving are greater than the chances of him staying at the moment.
It was reported around a week ago that Les Parisiens were upbeat about their chances of tying down Mbappe to a new contract and keeping him at the Parc des Princes beyond the current campaign.
However, it appears that confidence is waning and that the French capital club now believe that the 25-year-old superstar is likely to leave in the end rather than stay at the club beyond the ongoing campaign.
