The five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has been sensational for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia in recent weeks. However, there is a lot of uncertainty about his position in the Portuguese national team.
Portuguese Manager Roberto Martinez has selected 32 players for March’s international friendlies and has announced that he will divide the squad into three groups.
One group will be used for the entire international break, another will be reserved only for the match with Sweden and the third group will be for the match with Slovenia.
Why Is Ronaldo Not playing with Sweden?
According to ESPN, Al Nassr Star was only left out of the squad so the 39-year-old could enjoy a short holiday with his family in Saudi Arabia.
The break in the Saudi Pro League for the national team break sees the Portuguese striker get some much-needed rest.
The decision came after Saturday night’s match for Al-Nassr, where he completed the full 90 minutes.
