Vitoria Guimaraes will welcome Porto to the Estadio D. Afonso Henriques on Wednesday in the first leg of their Taca de Portugal semi-final clash.
The home side come into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Moreirense at the same Primeira Liga venue at the weekend. Jota Silva’s strike midway through the second half proved to be the difference between the two sides.
Meanwhile, Porto fell to a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Estoril in league action. They were reduced to 10 men after 20 minutes of the second half after Diogo Costa was sent off in the 65th minute. Their hosts took immediate advantage when Cassiano scored four minutes later.
The Dragons will now set their sights on the Taca de Portugal, securing their place at this stage with a 2-1 away win over Santa Clara in the quarter-finals. Guimaraes qualified with a 3-1 home win over Gil Vicente in the last round.
Sporting Lisbon or Benfica await the winner of this tie in next month’s final.
