Argentina International Leandro Paredes has responded to Kylian Mbappe’s recent comment that the European Championship is a harder tournament to win than the World Cup.

The AS Roma midfielder is part of the Argentina squad that is preparing to defend its Copa America 2024 title in the USA.

Former PSG star Kylian Mbappe has spoken of the difficulty of winning the Euros after failing to do so at the first attempt in 2021. The talented striker won the World Cup as a teenager three years ago, which is why he claims the Euros are a tougher competition.

Paredes said in a press conference about Kylian Mbappe that the Euro Cup is more difficult than the World Cup. Kylian Mbappe spoke at the French national team press conference on Tuesday and here is what he had to say:

“The euro is complicated. More complicated than the World Cup for me. Although there is more pressure at the World Cup. All the teams know each other, we play against each other all the time. Tactically, it’s very similar to football.”

With the Argentina national team in Florida, Leandro Paredes spoke to DSports’ Nani Senra and here’s what he had to say:

“He was lucky to win the World Cup, but I believe he hasn’t won the Euros yet. We were lucky enough to win the Copa America, the Finalissima, and the World Cup.

“We think about what we have achieved so that everyone can think and say what they want.”

Emiliano Martínez also spoke to the media about Kylian Mbappe’s comments.
