Lionel Messi arrived at Argentina’s camp to prepare for the Copa America 2024. The Argentinian giant leaves his MLS team in first place overall.
Lionel Messi didn’t have to go far to join Argentina’s Copa America squad. The 36-year-old traveled to Fort Lauderdale to join his national team-mates for what will be his quest for a second Copa America crown.
Messi is expected to captain and lead the Argentines in the tournament, which begins on June 20, where Argentina will face Canada at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
Messi is expected to miss Inter Miami’s games from June 5 until the final on July 14.
Messi, Álvarez, Mac Allister, Enzo Fernández, Nahuel Molina, and Exequiel Palacios are now in the national team. All three players arrived at training camp on Monday morning.
The Argentine national team trains at the Inter Miami stadium. Messi scored for Inter Miami on Saturday but had another day to rest, with the players joining the team on Sunday.
