James Rodriguez has sealed a return to La Liga, joining Rayo Vallecano on a first-year deal.
James Rodriguez left Brazilian giants Sao Paulo in July after a superb Copa America campaign with Colombia, winning the player of the tournament award as he reached the final.
James Rodriguez recorded six assists during the tournament, breaking the single edition record set by Lionel Messi in the 2021 competition (since 2011).
He also led all players in the tournament in chances created, with 20, including 14 from set pieces.
The 33-year-old, who spent six years at Real Madrid between 2014 and 2020, has now returned to City with Ray, who narrowly avoided relegation last term.
James Rodriguez has signed Inigo Perez on a first-year deal with an option to extend his stay for a further 12 months.
Rayo Vallecano took four points from their first two La Liga games of the season, beating Real Sociedad 2-1 and holding Getafe to a goalless draw. They will play against Barcelona on Tuesday.
