Atlético Madrid are closing in on signing Nahuel Molina from Udinese, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Spanish club have been working on a deal for some time but are understood to have made significant progress in talks with Udinese this week.
Many in the know about the deal believe it will be completed soon and that Diego Simeone will finally have a natural right-back to replace Kieran Trippier. The Englishman left for Newcastle United during the January transfer window and Atletico have since been forced to get creative to cope without him.
The 24-year-old Molina has played 16 games for the Argentine national team so far. He began his career at Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires, leaving for Europe four years after breaking into their first team and following loan spells at Defensa y Justicia and Rosario Central.
