Antoine Griezmann has been linked with a return to Atletico Madrid, with many Premier League clubs expected to keep an eye on him. Barca president Joan Laporta said the French attacker was “popular” with Catalan giants, but the club’s financial woes meant the World Cup-winning player had been sold.
According to the Mundo Deportivo Laporta as saying.”Griezmann is a market player, has interesting clubs, and we are building a team that wants financial equity,”
“I have Antoine Griezmann, we have no problem, we love him. But when the market goes, we are open to all donations because we are at a critical juncture where we have to balance fair financial performance, and as a result, we have to talk to all players so as not to hurt them, or (if possible) too little time.
“We do these balances and are open to all the options the market can give us, but we don’t want to hurt the team competitively.”
Griezmann, who is returning from training with Barcelona following his involvement in Euro 2020, has scored 35 goals and provided 17 assistants in 99 games for his current club.
