Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has officially been withdrawn from the England squad for their upcoming matches against Australia and Italy.

The 22-year-old reported for duty on Monday at St. George’s for further consideration by the medical department with the national side.

Saka played no part in his club’s 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday after going off injured in the UEFA Champions League clash with RC Lens with a suspected hamstring problem.

England confirmed in an official statement that it would be best for the ‘player to continue his rehabilitation at his club’.

Gareth Southgate has decided not to call for any replacements for the Arsenal winger.

England face the Socceroos in a friendly on Friday ahead of their crucial Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy.
