Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior faces a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury during Brazil’s World Cup qualifying defeat to Colombia.
The Spanish club said he had been diagnosed with a “tear in the left biceps femoris”.
“Following the tests carried out today by the Real Madrid medical service on our player Vinicius Jr., he has been diagnosed with a tear in his left biceps femoris which affects the tendon in the hamstring,” Real Madrid said.
“His recovery will be monitored.
Vinicius, who will miss next week’s meeting with Argentina, came off midway through the first half to become the latest Real Madrid player to suffer an injury setback.
Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga (knee) and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (thigh) are among those currently sidelined, while England international Jude Bellingham has a shoulder problem.
