The Premier League has agreed to take a winter break next season, defending the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The tournament is the first of its kind in the winter with events starting on 21 November and ending on 18 December.
Among the many controversies surrounding the World Cup is how the European home football calendar will be affected. As reported by Sky Sports, we finally have a clear idea of the state of England.
Understandably, the 2022/23 Premier League season will come to a close after the weekend starting on November 12, giving players more than a week to prepare with their national teams ahead of the start of the World Cup.
The season is then expected to resume on Boxing Day. This means that any players who reach the finals will have only eight days before they can play again.
