Already in the EFL Cup final, Chelsea look to claim double cup glory when the Blues take on Aston Villa at home in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
It’s a difficult draw for Chelsea as Villa are fourth in the league table and have gone head-to-head with some of the league’s most formidable teams throughout the campaign. Still, Villa appear to be showing signs of a slight slip, having won just three of their last seven games across all competitions dating back to a mid-December draw with Zrinjski Mostar in the Europa Conference League.
That could signal it’s time for Chelsea to pounce, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side beginning to show signs of improvement. The Blues have won five of their last six in all competitions and only lost the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final 1-0 to Middlesbrough, who they overturned in emphatic fashion with a 6-1 thrashing.
Chelsea are one of the worst finishing teams in the Premier League, but if they can start taking their chances more consistently, as they’ve shown their ability to do recently, they could be set for not only a move up the Premier League table, but domestic knockout glory as well.
