With 10 games left until the end of the 2021/22 season for Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez’s side are considered to be the only team that could challenge Real Madrid in the title race.
Although Carlo Ancelotti’s side won a crucial win over Celta Vigo on Saturday, Barcelona are still in the race statistically following the appointment of Xavi, who helped the Blaugrana regain their form and move up to second place in LaLiga Santander.
After Xavi’s arrival, Barcelona drew with Benfica and lost to Bayern Munich, which resulted in them missing out on the Champions League qualifiers.
Barcelona were also beaten by Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Supercopa de Espana before being knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Athletic Club – losing both games in extra time.
After being knocked out of the Copa del Rey, Barcelona have gone 13 games unbeaten, defeating players such as Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Sevilla in LaLiga Santander.
Meanwhile, they knocked Napoli out of the Europa League and qualified for the quarter-finals of the tournament after beating Galatasaray.
In total, Barcelona registered 10 wins and three draws, scoring 33 goals and conceding 10 two months ago.
It remains to be seen whether Xavi will be on time to fully reclaim Barcelona’s season and win the trophy.
Meanwhile, Xavi has registered three wins and three draws in his first six LaLiga Santander games. However, the arrival of Dani Alves, Ferran Torres, Adama Traore, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been a major boost for Blaugrana, who have made significant progress over the past two years.
